Covadonga Valdés


Covadonga Valdés Sobrecueva is an Asturian artist with an extensive artistic career. She has lived in London for 23 years, where she graduated in Fine Arts and has developed most of her work.

She had a scholarship by the British Institute of London and was awarded the prize of the Bristish School of Rome. Her artistic career travels from individual to collective exhibitions, with various awards and with her work as part of museums and private collections in England.


Her painting is landscape, it is realism.
Recently she has mainly taken part in collective exhibitions curated in the United Kingdom such as the one that took place in the Lion and Lamb Gallery, London, 2014 (STRADDLE THE LINE). Also in APT Gallery, London, curated by Della Gooden and Catherine Ferguson and in Art Fairs such as Sluice Art Fair, London 2013, Freeze’13; The Mayor’s Parlor, London and 2013 Summer Saloon Show; 2014 Crash Open Salon at CHARLIE DUTTON GALLERY, London, selected by Phill Allen, Martin Coomer and Neil Tait and 2014 John Moores Painting Prize. The Walker Gallery National Museums of Liverpool.
In 2013 she also participated in Art Britannia ‘The Best of New British’ Madonna Building, Miami.
In Spain, recently, she has participated in the Art Fair of Oviedo, 2001, individual exhibition «whims» in the art room Ángulo of Oviedo, 2002 and in FICEMU. Caja Rural de Gijon Gallery, 2003.
